The person behind fahl hospitality

Britta Fahl

15 years at TUI, including as Resident Manager and as Head of Quality Management & Hotel Consulting. Today organisational consultant and coach, with a focus on leadership development.

“I know what it feels like when someone comes to evaluate your house. That is why our work is not about evaluating, but about moving your hotel forward.”

The occupancy looks good. The guest smiles at check-out.And writes something slightly different online.

Not an inspection

Four questions
many hoteliers ask themselves.

Quality checks often feel like an exam, for the team and for management alike. We start somewhere else: with the questions that matter to you.

1

What do my guests really experience?

After years in the same house, the view from inside becomes familiar. Your guests see it for the first time, every day.

2

Which topics really matter?

To-do lists are rarely short. The art is knowing which few topics make the biggest difference, and why.

3

How does a report become everyday change?

Audits and reports are written quickly. Change happens when teams and leaders carry it into their daily work.

4

How do I know it is working?

Progress deserves to be seen: by management, by the team and, above all, by your guests.

How it works

Four answers, step by step.

At the heart of it is a stay in your house by our team, flanked by an evaluation of what your guests write online. Each step answers one of the four questions.

1
See

The on-site analysis

We stay in your house as guests, announced openly if you like, and look at everything, supported by an evaluation of your online reviews.

2
Prioritise

Causes and priorities

We look for the causes behind what we see, and where it matters most. So you know where to start.

3
Implement

Advice and practical training

Concrete advice on the way forward, and training at every level: service teams, leaders and management, so that department heads pull in the same direction.

4
Measure

Visible progress

A follow-up visit and the development of your reviews show what is working, and where another step helps.

Find out if it fits your hotel

We shape each step around your house.

What we look at

A thorough look at
the whole guest experience.

The whole stay

From the booking and the first email to arrival, room, restaurants, pool, spa and the goodbye. Across the areas of your house.

Service and people

How guests are welcomed, how wishes are anticipated and how small problems are solved. The moments guests tell their friends about.

Standards and details

Cleanliness, condition, food and drink, atmosphere. The details that quietly shape how a stay feels.

Your guests' voices

As a complement, we bring in what guests write online. So our assessment and their experience come together in one picture.

A guest review

tells you how a guest felt.

A professional assessment

shows you why, and what to do next.

A structured, professional assessment shows what guests feel but rarely name: the reasons behind a moment, and the levers that change it. Many hotels already have audits and reports. This is where our work begins: with the few priorities, and with the people who put them into practice.

Most hotels already have what their guests love. What often stands in the way is clarity: knowing which few things to focus on first.

For those who like the details

A closer look.

What the on-site analysis covers

From the booking and the first email to arrival, room, restaurants and bars, pool and beach, spa, entertainment and the goodbye. Our assessment follows a detailed, structured catalogue, weighted so that larger areas carry more weight than small details.

Photos document what we saw. The beautiful things too, because they are just as worth building on.

Why a professional assessment goes further

Guests describe how something felt. A professional assessment looks at the whole process behind it: standards, workflows, the interplay of departments. So each topic comes with its reasons, and with a way forward.

How guest reviews complement the picture

Alongside the stay, we look at what guests write online, in all their languages. This shows whether our observations are part of a wider pattern, how topics develop over time, and which ones guests mention that no rating form asks for.

What you receive

Clear priorities and concrete recommendations: it opens with your strengths, then focuses on the few levers with the biggest effect and the causes behind them. All of it in a clear, interactive report in English, German or Spanish, on request also as a presentation. And a conversation to discuss the way forward together.

Training at every level

For service teams: practical training on the moments that matter to guests, on site, tailored to your house and your season, and close to everyday work.

For leaders and management: leadership and management training, a focus of Britta Fahl's work for many years. Lasting change in a hotel usually starts with the people who lead the teams, so that your hotel becomes the place guests return to, and keeps its best people.

In both cases, teams work with the priorities and develop their own next steps, with shared responsibility for the result.

How your team experiences it

Our feedback begins with what already works well: teams are discovered doing great things, not caught making mistakes. If you like, the stay can be announced openly, as help to collect even more praise from guests. Reports describe situations, not individuals to blame.

Confidentiality

Everything we see stays with you. We do not name the hotels we work with in public.

Britta Fahl
About

I have stood on the other side.

I'm Britta Fahl. For fifteen years I worked at TUI: as Resident Manager, including on Crete, for nearly eight years as Head of Quality Management & Hotel Consulting, and as Deputy Crisis Director.

What matters to me: being clear about what matters, and at the same time warm with the people who make it happen. Hotels deserve support that feels like working alongside someone, not like an exam.

Today I also work as an organisational consultant and certified coach for change processes, with a focus on leadership development. That is where the focus on teams, leaders and management comes from.
